FOOD, Meatballs, And How's The Weather Up There?

Hallo alle!

A crazy week to say the least!

On Saturday we (the Essen and Dortmund District missionaries) hosted a stake youth activity in Dortmund. It was called "Great Gatsby Night: a Night in the 1920's" - who wouldn't want to go to that? It was a huge success and actually a good amount of youth showed up which was way cool. We played a bunch of card games, served drinks, and it was a ton of fun! Maybe I will be a waiter when I get home. I only managed to screw up a couple orders and forget 3 others, and only one person told me they would leave me a 2 star Yelp review. It was such a great opportunity to create better relationships with the youth and show them that missionaries are just normal people too!

We met this week with Dennis again, along with two other missionaries that we were on a split with, and Marco (the GOAT, he is got to be one of my best friends here in Germany now, plus he is like 6'11", so to have a connection like him has its perks! I know who to call when I can't reach the top shelf). So we did a little Book of Mormon study together. We read Moroni 7 together and it was really powerful. We just bore testimony to Dennis about the importance of Jesus Christ, the power of prayer and how if we have a sincere heart and real intent, we can pray and receive answers to our questions from God.

Transfers also happened and I got moved to.... FOOD (aka. Essen....Essen is "Food" in German). Before I left, we went and visited one of the members who does a lot for the missionaries and is so supportive! She recently had surgery, so when we went by we just talked for a bit, and then made her lunch. Authentic German meatballs. They were pretty good if I don't say so myself.

Essen is not very far AT ALL from Dortmund. It is really just the next area over and so I already know my new companion Elder Christensen, and we are excited for this transfer. I was pretty sad to leave Dortmund since I was just starting to get comfortable and really get to know the members and develop good connections with our friends, but I am looking forward to my time here in Essen.

Anyways, that's it folks! I love yall and miss yall!

 Bis später!

 Elder Allan (Lando)
