Christmas, Insane Kids, And Thanksgiving

Image
Hallo Leute!   Another awesome week! I am really loving being here in Duisburg. The COVID numbers are spiking in Germany so there are some stricter rules being put in place, and some places are canceling Christmas events/markets. I hope everything will be back to normal soon enough.   Duisburg is still doing it's Christmas market, and it's so fun. There's so much good food and cool decorations. I'm having a lot of fun, but with a lot of other Christmas markets being canceled, it made me think about how important the true meaning of Christmas is. It sounds clichè but it's true. Really the only reason Christmas is celebrated is to celebrate Christs birth and family! (But either way the Christmas markets are absolutely awesome)   This week we had an awesome lesson with one of our friends named Hossein and he was talking about how he was worried about joining a religion because he was afraid that he would only do good things to look spiritual in front of others and not ...

Vacation In France, Saying Tschüss, And Somewhere New

Image
Hallo Leute!   This week has been crazy. On Friday we went to France! We had a vacation day so we decided to spend it in France. JUST KIDDING. We went with our Bishop just over the border to a town called Forbach to talk with someone who used to be a member, left the church  brcsuse it didnt feel right in order to join the Lutheran church, but then decided three years later to come back and now she wants to be rebaptized. She said she didnt know what she had until she didnt have it anymore. After lots of prayer she decided that we really do have the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today, and hence now she wants to be rebaptized. Sometimes in life we reach a crossroads where we have to decide. Occaisionally the Lord lets us go down the wrong road and reach a dead end so that we can turn around, and go down the right road without a doubt in our mind thst we are on the right road.   Anyways on Saturday we found out that I was being transferred to Duisburg! I was sad...

Basically Friends With Uchtdorf, Riots, And Change Of Plans

Image
Hallo Leute!   What an interesting week! Always assume the week went by fast unless I say otherwise because I'm sorta tired of writing it.    We had quite a busy week. Last week we actually texted quite a few members asking if we could come by to practice teaching and stuff, and so we were able to meet with two families. On Friday we met with the Tschierschwitz family and they are awesome! They are so nice, have a HUGE garden in their backyard where they grow all of their own vegetables AND fruit, and they are friends with Elder Uchtdorf. They were also temple missionaries for the last year and they were able to share some cool experiences. We also were invited over by the Mücke family on Monday. At first we were a little nervous because we didnt know them as well, and Brother Mücke always seemed like a hardcore German who sticks to the rules and very percise (sorry for the stereotype but honestly its pretty true round here, what can I say), but him and Sister Mücke and t...

Pizza Night, Baptism, And Hitting The Streets

Image
Hallo Alle! This week was really awesome! My mom said a lot of people were confused why my pday is on Thursday, so I thought I would quickly explain. In Germany they love holidays so there are tons of holidays on Mondays, meaning that a lot of stuff is closed on Monday, so some time in the past the mission president decided to moved it to Thursday. Anyways we had splits this week here in Saarbrücken which was so fun. We made some cookies and brought them to a new Young adult in our ward, tried delivering a couple Book of Mormons (but they werent there), ordered some pizza while working hard at the church building, and did our English class (which is always fun).  We found a new friend! I met a guy on Facebook who was interested in talking about the Book of Mormon and Christ, and we actually ended up meeting with him in the church, gave him a tour of it, and when we showed him the font he asked if he could be baptized again even though he was baptized in a different church! It was s...
