Progression, A German Breakfast, And Lots And Lots Of Driving

Image
Hallo Alle! What a week! Another one gone by. This past Friday we met with our friend Pei Chuan and she is moving forward so fast. Qe were able to have one of our members who speak Chinese there with us, so he was able to explain things and share experiences that she didnt understand in German which was awesome. Even without a Christian background, she already seems to have developed a relationship with Christ. We gave her a pamphlet about the Plan of Salvation that had a picture of Christ on it after His resurrection, and at the end of the lesson she just picked up the picture and couldnt stop crying. She said how much she loved it and how good it made her feel. That was a really cool experience.  We also had breakfast at a members house, and it was a lot of fun. The Schröders are a really nice and really cool. It was a classic German breakfast with rolls, different types of sausage and bacon, and a ton of different types of cheeses. It was all really good, and they actually gave ...

The Famous Bostalsee, Setting A Record, And Spiritual Stuff

Hallo Alle! Its Thursday again. Who would've guessed time really does fly. Well last Saturday we had a ward activity going to a lake (Bostalsee). Youve definitely heard of it. Its the hottest tourist attraction in ALL of Saarland!! Sarcasm aside it was actually really fun. We drove about an hour or so away, all together and walked around the lake for about an hour and got lunch. Its funny cause since Saarland doesnt really have many tourist attractions, they really turned this normal lake into every single tourist attraction ever. They have a petting zoo, copes course, seafood themed restaurants, a rainforest themed lodge with food and kids shows, rentable boats, and literally everything you could think of. We actually had a lot of people at the activity. Half the ward was there. If we were back home that would be like at least 80 maybe 100 people, but half the ward here is about 15 haha. It was actually really fun because I talked with and got to know a couple members some more, a...

Exploring Saarland, Giving Hope, And Teaching Someone German?

Hallo Alle! Another week gone by. It is so weird to think about that in just under 5 weeks, I will already be 1/4 done with my mission (6 months mark). I promise I'm not counting down, its just crazy how fast the time flies by.  This week we have had a ton of Book of Mormon referrals (people who order a free Book of Mormon), and so we did a lot of traveling around Saarland delivering Book of Mormons. We got to see a lot of areas that we haven't seen yet. I honestly had not expected there to be so much countryside in Germany. It reminds me a lot of Virginia. Its also getting colder, and all the trees are changing colors. We had one Book of Mormon order from some small town in the middle of nowhere. We got there and it really made me appreciate more where I am. It sounds cheesy but the air was so fresh, the houses were all different, and you could see the farms and stuff in the distance. Anyways it was just really cool. We also delivered a Book of Mormon yesterday, and the lady w...

A Walking Miracle, General Conference Hype, And A Guy From The Straßenbahn

Hallo meine Lieblingsleute! Another week gone by. I say this every single week, but the days really do fly by. Transfers were this week and both Elder Jacobsen and I will be staying in Saarbrücken for another 6 weeks! Honestly I'm excited cause we just got the ball rolling. Members are started to invite us over to church now, we have a lot of people possibly interested in learning more about the Gospel, and we are now teaching anogher person (that requires a bit of a story). We got a referral from another missionary for this guy on Facebook who said he was interested but lived in our area. We set up an appointment with him last Friday. His profile picture was a picture of a youngish, buff, guy, but his voice messages sounded like he was 100, so we really didnt know what to expect. Anyways we get to the house, and we say a statue of Mary outside and we were a little scared simply because we were worried that he might have just invited us over to "bash". We went in, sat dow...
