My Aura, Analogies, And Déjà-Vu

Image
Hallo zusammen!   This week was awesome. We are seeing some progress with our friends and that has been really exciting.   We taught Patrizio this week, and that is always an adventure. For starters we walked in his apartment, and asked if we ate garlic before we came, and we were like "last night...." and he said "cause I can smell it". That really threw me off my game and I am now very self conscious about eating garlic. At least I'll keep all the vampires away. He also claims he is really good at reading people so he kept staring into our eyes and telling us what he saw and who we are as people. Apparently I have a strong personality and strong "spiritual aura" but my faith isn't as strong as it could be. I mean I guess he technically wasn't wrong. Who needs Anyways he talked a lot about why he is meeting with us, and he said that we bring a good spirit with us everytime we come and when we leave it leaves with us and he he goes back to feel...

Hallo meine Lieblingsleute! Hope you all had an awesome week!   This week went by weirdly fast. I always wake up and then literally in a couple of minutes I go back to sleep (I don't mean that literally, I promise I get up on time, dont tell President Hammon). But no joke it really feels like the days are just going by like crazy. In case anyone is wondering, I've been on my mission for almost 8 months now, and for about 6.5 of those I have been in Germany. I don't know how you all have survived without me for so long, but I'm proud that you have pushed through!   Last week we had a Zone Conference, which was awesome! We drove up early again with Piet to help him get the food ready, so we woke up at 5, and once we got back around 8pm, we started cleaning the church, and so needless to say, it was a long day... but a good one! We talked a lot about finding ways to improve, the power of the Book of Mormon, and how to conquer fears/obstacles. It was really rewarding for me...

Talking Is Scary, Q&A, And A Big Church

Hallo Alle!   What a good week. Being a missionary is exhausting, but when you have really put in hard work and tried your best, it feels pretty darn good.   This week we had a couple of lessons with friends of the church but we mainly focused on street and train/bahn contacting. Even after having been on a mission for 7 months, lemme tell you, talking to people is hard. You may get better at it, but it definitely doesn't get easier, or at least not for me. Being in Germany makes it a bit harder because although Germans are nice most of the time, they tend to be a bit more closed off and suspicious, especially of random kids with name tags trying to talk to them about religion (like me). So we get flat out rejected a lot, but hey, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger (except for the weather here. It has almost killed me, and I definitely don't feel any stronger). You would never think that Landon would ever get tired of talking huh?    Missions really do change y...

Murder By Food, Italiano, And Rain

Hallo meine Lieblingsleute!   What a week. It's not even like a ton of stuff happened, I am just tired!   Last Thursday on my birthday, Vishnu (one of our young adults) and Elder Breinholt/the Sisters surprised me with a cake and candles so that was really awesome. I think that being sung Happy Birthday to is still one of the most awkward phenomenons of all time. Has anyone figured out what you do while they are singing? Cause I haven't. Do you clap? Do you just smile? Do you hum along? I don't know but what I do know is that I am incredibly uncomfortable each time (despite how grateful I am).   I hope everyone had a great New Year! We didn't stay up, but we were woken up around 12 by a bunch of fireworks so we essentially got to experience it anyways. On new years day we went over to the Dreier Families along with Piet to have Raclette, which is where you have a ton of ingredients (like cheese, potatoes, vegetables, different types of meat, etc.) and you can cook/make...
