A Perfect Plan

Hallo liebe Leute! Well this has been a crazy week. On Thursday we had another incredible lesson with Alex and Galina. They asked US what more they could do to help the ward out and be more active in it. We had a nice discussion about the power of prayer, and it was really awesome. As both Elder Christensen and I gave testimony of prayer and how it has helped us in our lives, the Spirit was really strong. Alex and Galina are such incredible people, and I am grateful that I have been able to get to know them. On Saturday I got the call that I would be transferred to Frankfurt. That was pretty darn unexpected and I was hoping to be able to spend the rest of my mission in Essen. But I am also really excited to be here in Frankfurt. I am actually serving with Elder Urban again, who I was companions with in Darmstadt for two transfers last year. So that was also pretty unexpected to say the least, but I am so excited for us to be able to work together again! Saturday and Sunday was Stake Co...

Love One Another

Hallo Leute! This week was great! We ended up meeting with our friend Tarek who we met at a service project. He is so incredibly open and ready to learn, even though we weren't initially expecting to talk about the Gospel with us. We got into a long discussion about temples and the Book of Mormon. We gave him a brand new copy, and he said he would be completely down to read! I admire him for how open minded he is and willing to listen to two 19/21 year olds.  I also learned even more about prayer this week. I studied a lot about examples of prayer in the scriptures, and it was really cool.  We played soccer this week at our game night, and my poor 1 year old €30 dress shoes from Deichmann finally gave up the ghost. The soles were already coming off a bit, but during soccer pieces were flying everywhere. Needless to say, I bought some new shoes today. Also €30, and also from Deichmann. This week we also did a mini mission with Marcel who will be leaving on his mission to Berlin...

To Become Holy

Hallo alle! What a great week! This week we had zone conference which was a great experience. It was probably the best one of my missions. We talked a lot about how in trying to become like Jesus Christ, it is incredibly important to recognize our own self worth and divine potential but also help others feel loved and recognize their own self worth, just like Jesus Christ did. President Hammon also talked about sanctification, and how to become sanctified means to become holy. In other words, to become more like Jesus Christ. There are so many opportunities everyday that we have to become more like Jesus Christ. One thing that I have learned on my mission is that no matter how YOU feel, never stop serving others. As you strive to not think less of yourself, but rather think less often ABOUT yourself, you will be blessed and you will become happier in life. You will also come to recognize your own self worth and how loved you are as a child of God.  The other day we went over to the...

Jesus Is German?, Wrestling With Comparisons, and Coincidences

Hallo Leute! This week was a lot of fun, and we had a lot of spiritual experiences! On Friday we met with our friend Richard, and he decided to get baptized on February 11th! It's pretty soon, but he has been prepared by God for a long time. He is such an incredible person and is so ready to dedicate his life to helping others and serving Jesus Christ.  On Saturday we helped some friends move apartments. The dad picked us up early in the morning and at the original apartment we helped disassemble a bed and a cabinet. Afterwards we went with him to pick up the rental van. Long story short, the dad ended up having to go to work so we waited in the rundown, filled with crumbs and water bottles, a European Ford rental van at the rental agency for about 20 minutes for one of his friends to show up and take over. And that's how we met Tarek. Tarek mentioned that two missionaries had talked to him about a year ago in Düsseldorf and he was pretty sure I was one of them. It could have b...
