Frankfurt Germany Mission #7

hallo Alle!!
I forgot to send this email last week. I had it written out but I totally forgot to send it. So you will be blessed with two emails from me this week. Say thank you. (So stay tuned for my next email)

I cannot believe that I have been in Germany for a week already. Being here in Saarbrücken has been such a good time. I have met so many awesome people. My comp Elder De Young is pretty great, but he's sending me a lot of mixed messages considering that we go on runs in the morning but on the way back we stop at a bakery to get the good stuff. Hopefully it cancels out and I'm not slowly putting on the German pounds. Im sure its a healthy habit.
Anyways this past week has been pretty awesome. We have done a lot of street contacting which is a little scary at times but at the same time so fun just being able to talk people in a completely different language than the one I grew up speaking. Its funny how once in a while you get some people who are eager to talk to you (like one guy from Cameroon who we essentially taught the entire restoration of the church to on a 45 minute train ride) and then there are people who see your name tags and literally turn around and walk in the other direction.
It was really cool on Sunday because since the ward is so small, it is really personal, and you get to know everyone. We also had a Sunday school class for those who were interested in joining the church, or those who just wanted to become more familiar with gospel principles, and it was really cool because both of the people that we have invited to church came. In fact, one of them, who we have only met with twice, wants to give a talk in church next Sunday haha.
Also on Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning, I had my first Austauch or "Splits". I went to Trier to spend the day and night there with the trainer there, and the trainee there came and spent the day/night with my trainer. I was with Elder Lauener, who is Swiss so I got a lot of good practice with my German with him haha. We actually had an activity that night with the English ward of the American base there in Bitburg, and it was a lot of fun. It is so cool that no matter where you move in the world, or where you are, you can always have the Gospel in your life and access its blessings.
Finally, today for P-day, we went to the Saarschleife, which is a really pretty part of the Saar River which bends like a horseshoe (its like Horseshoe bend in Arizona, except with trees and nature). It was awesome, but I don't have much time so ill say goodbye. Love you all
