FOOD, Meatballs, And How's The Weather Up There?
Hallo alle! A crazy week to say the least! On Saturday we (the Essen and Dortmund District missionaries) hosted a stake youth activity in Dortmund. It was called "Great Gatsby Night: a Night in the 1920's" - who wouldn't want to go to that? It was a huge success and actually a good amount of youth showed up which was way cool. We played a bunch of card games, served drinks, and it was a ton of fun! Maybe I will be a waiter when I get home. I only managed to screw up a couple orders and forget 3 others, and only one person told me they would leave me a 2 star Yelp review. It was such a great opportunity to create better relationships with the youth and show them that missionaries are just normal people too! We met this week with Dennis again, along with two other missionaries that we were on a split with, and Marco (the GOAT, he is got to be one of my best friends here in Germany now, plus he is like 6'11", so to have a connection like him has its perks! ...
Prayer, Brezel, And Escalator To Heaven
Hallo Leute! It's been a good week! Last Thursday we had a lesson with Alex and Galina. They are dating, but Alex is a member and Galina is not. We talked about the steps before baptism, and we even asked them if they want to get sealed sometime in the temple, and they enthusiastically said yes! The Spirit was so strong and you could see how much they cared for each other and how much they looked forward to being able to be together for eternity. Galina is really excited to get baptized, and today we are going to be talking more about what it takes to get there. On Friday we had three lessons in a row, all of which were really powerful. The first one with Dominik who was recently baptized. He is such a great guy and he is trying so hard to live the Gospel! The Gospel has really changed his life and he talked to us about how grateful he is for it and for the blessings he has seen.
