Vacation In France, Saying Tschüss, And Somewhere New
Hallo Leute!
This week has been crazy. On Friday we went to France! We had a vacation day so we decided to spend it in France. JUST KIDDING. We went with our Bishop just over the border to a town called Forbach to talk with someone who used to be a member, left the church brcsuse it didnt feel right in order to join the Lutheran church, but then decided three years later to come back and now she wants to be rebaptized. She said she didnt know what she had until she didnt have it anymore. After lots of prayer she decided that we really do have the true Church of Jesus Christ on the earth today, and hence now she wants to be rebaptized. Sometimes in life we reach a crossroads where we have to decide. Occaisionally the Lord lets us go down the wrong road and reach a dead end so that we can turn around, and go down the right road without a doubt in our mind thst we are on the right road.
Anyways on Saturday we found out that I was being transferred to Duisburg! I was sad about leaving Saarbrücken, the ward, and our friends there, but I was excited for the future. Between that time and Tuesday when I left, we had a lesson with one of our friends, we dropped a cake off to Ben and Johanna (Ben who is the American member and Johanna who is one of our friends/investigators), made one last trek up the stairs of death and the hill of doom to say goodbye to Sister Salm and give the sacrament, said bye to some more members, and we visited the Deutsch Family (who are a younger family and really just so awesome.
Brother Deutsch told me something that really left an impression. He joined the church 8 years ago, but was about to get married and didnt have a chance to serve a mission. He said that he was honestly sorta jealous thst we have the opprtunity to give up two years of our life to serve the Lord and help others find happiness in their life. Two years of only focusing on the Gospel and helping others. I have come to realize how unique and incredible this opportunity is, and I need to make it worth it. No other time in my life will I be in such a perfect position to be able to help others find hope and happiness in their life, and help others know that they have a loving Heavenly Father.
But anyways Im in Duisburg now. Beforehand I heard a lot about it. Lets just say you wouldnt go to Duisburg for the scenery, unless you really like factories. However, I heard so many good things about the people and the members, and the, were not lying. We had a young mens activity last night and I got to meet so many awesome members. We have a lot of youth and young adults here and im so excited to get to know more of them. Ill be able to tell you guys more next week!
Talk to you guys later
Tschüss yall
