No Reciept, Gray Hair, And A Hallmark Movie

Servus!

This week was something else.

For starters, we had Zone Conference last Friday in Dortmund. It was a ton of fun because I got to see some friends, eat some good food, and of course learn a lot. Piet from our ward did the cooking, so he picked us up early in the morning and we drove with him to help him get started. Needless to say, it was a long day, but it reminded of how grateful to be where I am. We also did a white elephant gift exchange, and I got a dog toy and gummy bears???? I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it, and they didn't provide the receipt :(

Also someone the Sisters were meeting with, Kristi, got baptized! It was awesome to talk with her and hear her testimony. She loves the Gospel and is so excited to learn more and build an even stronger relationship with God.

We had somewhat of a stressful week just working with someone who is really struggling emotionally, so everybody keep us and this (unnamed) person in your prayers so that we can really help them feel God's love.

Also COVID is going around like crazy around here, so that of course adds to the stress. I think throughout the past couple weeks my gray patch of hair has gotten bigger. Also, now we have to show our vaccination and ID to get into most stores, so let's hope we don't have to end up in another lockdown, cause that would not be preferable to say the least.

Today, we went to Dortmund with our district to visit their Christmas Market. They have like the biggest tree (either in Germany, Europe, or the world, I don't remember) that is made out of real pine branches. Also the Christmas Market was huge and there were over 250 stalls. It was really awesome, and even though the market in Duisburg is awesome, the one in Dortmund is even bigger. I honestly felt like I was walking around in a Hallmark movie because the air smelled like a mix of roasted almonds, gingerbread, and pine trees, and everything was covered in Christmas lights.

Also some missionaries in our mission, including two from our district, made a rendition of O Holy Night (in german of course), but it is incredible! Please check it out on my facebook or at

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IwfSkEqKZSM

and share it with ALL your friends. I know it's in German, but it is still so incredible, and we are trying to spread it everywhere!

Anyways I'm having an awesome time here, and I hope you guys are too. Just remember no matter how old you are, who you are, where you are, or how COVID is affecting your life, you can always take time to remember "the reason for the season" - giving to others, and remembering the birth of your and my Savior, Jesus Christ

Fröhliche Weihnachten!
