Stairmaster 3000, Duolingo Pays Off, And Sheep!
Hallo alle!
Wowww was für eine Woche!! This week was pretty crazy. Over the weekend we just did some normal finding and talking to people, but the past couple days have been pretty busy.
On Monday.... we helped with FOUR moves. Yeah that's right. We started at 6:30 am helping a member who lives right by us, and we ended at 6:30pm. Since they are all friends, we went from apartment to apartment with the moving van and helping people move apartments (everyone just moved to different places within Duisburg). Let me just say however, going up 5 flights of stairs with a couch is not fun. But don't worry, I only dented one wall. On the bright side, IKEA college-student furniture is such a blessing because of how light it is. It's not like moving back home to Virginia where we need 8 people on one dresser because it's "real cherry wood". I'm sure actually some of you guys remember moving that monstrosity. It was so fun hanging out with everybody all day and to see how ready everyone was to help and serve each other. That 12 hours of service was just another testament to me of how important charity and love is, and that the more you serve, the more you will feel that Christlike love for others.
Tuesday we had exchanges and Elder Stauffer came here to Duisburg. It was a lot of fun! We went over to a member's house and gave a couple blessings and it was a really cool experience. I was giving them in German, and I don't know why but I think that was the most perfect German that I have ever spoken consecutively. There was obviously something that they needed to hear and they needed to be able to understand it, so the Lord blessed me with some good German and then took it away again haha!
Yesterday we had district council in Wuppertal, which is a really pretty city. I have been one other time before in December, but it had been a while since then so it was good to see it again. I was in charge of doing a teaching-roleplay, but with help from Elder Stauffer, I decided to make everyone just do a Facebook post about family history and RootsTech (which starts today). I made one two and I have already gotten three people in our city who are really interested in learning more! That was a really cool small miracle to see.
We also met with someone who wants to get rebaptized. She left the church a few years ago, but she eventually received a really cool answer from God that really hit me hard as well. She was taking care of some sheep on a farm, when one of them got really sick, and was close to death when she decided to pray. It had been a while since she prayed, but she decided to God to bless this sheep so that it could survive. The next day the sheep was healed, and she realized that that was a direct sign from the Lord. She now wants to be rebaptized. Exactly what happened in her personal experience, can happen with us as well. Jesus Christ is our shepherd, we are his sheep, and He loves us so much. When one of us goes astray, He searches for us. And because of His Atonement, when we are hurt or sick, we can be healed. If anyone ever wants someone to talk to about anything, just send me an email. I'm always here!
Anyways that's it for this week y'all! I hope y'all have an awesome rest of your week!
