Awkward Teenagers, A Good Listener, And God's Plan

Hallo alle!

I'm back, again! It's your favorite part of the week, I know!

Anyways, last week after P-Day we did some street contacting. At one time we were walking and there was a younger guy walking towards us a little far off, but I thought I should talk to him. I then thought I shouldn't because there was a big group of teenagers behind us and I didn't want to be awkward and stop right in front of them all. But I decided to follow the promptings and talk to him anyway. The guy mentioned he had been talked to by missionaries before about 2 weeks ago, but he was sure it wasn't me cause apparently the guy that talked to him was a lot slimmer than me (maybe I have been eating too many oreos in the past 2 weeks) So long story short, after talking about where it happened and everything we finally realized that it WAS me, but after talking to him 2 weeks ago, I lost his number in my contacts and I couldn't find it! He is still interested in learning more about the Gospel, so God really fixed my mistake of losing his number by helping us meet each other again!

Bear with me for the next story. Everyone is related. I swear in the church in Germany. This week we visited a less active member (Olaf) whose wife (Oki) just went to the hospital. Olaf loves to tell stories that's for sure! We planned on just dropping by and giving him a visit, but it was more like 2 hours. We didn't talk much, but it definitely taught me a lesson on being a good listener, especially in German!

We also visited the Megner family. Their 96 yr old father/grandfather (who is the step father of Oki, who just went into the same hospital) is in a hospital that still doesn't let anyone in to visit. Not even family members. The really wanted him to be able to get a blessing, but no one could get in. So we said we would try. We went to the hospital and ran into Oki who was taking a walk outside, and she also was really hoping that we could make it in to see her step father and give him a blessing. We were really praying that they would let us in! Apparently as missionaries we are considered "Seelsorger" (it translates to "carer of souls" but essentially just a religious minister or something), so when we told the front desk that that's what we are, they let us in! So without any problems they let us in, we were able to give him a blessing, and it made the family and the man really happy. He is ready to move on, but his faith in the plan of salvation was so admirable. The whole experience really strengthened my faith. Just so much lined up that I shouldn't have lined up. We really saw the hand of God during last couple days.

Today for Pday as a district we made breakfast burritos and played some games! It was a lot of fun!

Anyways that's all for this week y'all! I miss y'all and love y'all!

Talk to ya next week!
