God's Army, Elder Suburban, And The Spirit

Hallo alle!

A great week!

Last week we went to the park again and sang christian songs with people. It was so awesome. Multiple people came up and wanted to talk to us about what we were doing and why, and we got to know some new people you were interested in learning some more!

On Sunday, Sam received the Holy Ghost! It was an awesome experience. Sadly he just moved to Saarbrücken, but I love Saarbrücken since I started my mission there, so I wasn't too mad haha.

On Sunday I was fasting that we would be able to find some new people who would be interested in the Gospel, and that we would know how to help people around us. There was a baptism on Sunday in the Spanish Group that we helped out with, and Michael, who was getting baptized, invited 5 of his US Army friends, and they all wanted to meet up with us sometime and talk some more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That was truly a miracle. They've already been in America's Army, now they can join God's :)

We also visited a family that we didn't really know on Sunday evening. She is German, and he is American, but they lived in America for a while but moved out here for a little bit. It was a lot of fun (plus we had enchiladas which I haven't had in over a year and that was truly a blessing haha, it's a struggle out here trying to find real Mexican food, so the next best thing is a half german half American family). Their kids are pretty crazy, but we played Telephone, and with the energy level of those kids, the message turned from "Elder Urban ate all the pizza in Germany '' to "Elder Suburban pooped his pants". Kids say the darndest things don't they... Anyways we talked about how sometimes God's message can get distorted or be changed, but we have a modern day prophet on the Earth today who can help us better understand how we can get closer to God and Jesus Christ.

The other day we went street contacting, and no one really wanted to talk, so I stopped and said a prayer, and after that there was an older guy sitting on a bench who for whatever reason just really stood out to me. So I decided to just go sit next to him on the bench and see what happened. I did, and ended up asking if it had been a long day for him. After that, the conversation just went on and on for a while, and I even got 2 missed calls from Elder Urban as he was looking for me. It was really great. He had a lot of questions about why God lets bad things happen and such, and I really felt the Spirit as I testified about God being our loving Heavenly Father and the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. After some statements, he paused and his face looked a little puzzled, and you could tell that the Spirit was doing some work. But he kept coming back to the same question. Ultimately, he wasn't willing to take a Book of Mormon or exchange numbers, but he took a card, and was really really nice. Although not much came out of it, I know that God wanted me to talk to that man. Love you y'all and miss y'all!

Tschüss!
