The Two In The White Shirts, Child Of God, And I'm 1/4 Mexican!

Hallo liebe Leute!

It was a great week! (When is it ever not one, am i right?)

One evening we decided to just talk to people on the street since we had some extra time in the day, so we went to Luisenplatz (the main city square) and there was a guy ripping some Christian rock on his guitar. He was hooked up to speakers and everything so it was really loud. Then he started preaching (first in English, then in German) about how he came to believe in God. So as we walked away we gave him a thumbs up and he just stops and in his microphone shouts "Ay you two in the white shirts!" all the heads in the main square just slowly turned to us "I want to talk to you guys, so make a loop and come back when I'm done". So we came back when we were done, and we expected a nice conversation about how great Jesus is, but when we asked him why he wanted to talk to us he said "To convince you that Joseph Smith was a false prophet and that you believe in the wrong Jesus". So that was interesting!

Anyways!

This week Sam was baptized! It happened right after the Spanish group that meets, so a lot of the Spanish members were there. We also have a newer member who is American, someone who just got baptized and moved here from Nigeria, an Italian guy, and a friend of the Sisters from Iran. It was such a cool experience because it truly showed me that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not only "international" but it is for EVERYONE. No matter who you are, what color your skin is, what gender you are, what language you speak, or whether or not you are good at math, you are a beloved child of God, and therefore Jesus Christ's Gospel is meant for you. I am so grateful for it!

Anyways the baptism was really so awesome, and it was cool to see how excited he was and how much he looked forward to it. He is such an awesome guy and honestly an example to all of us. He is already so dedicated to the Gospel and has such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ. Seeing how happy he was alone was such a big testimony builder for me.

We went to a young adult activity on Monday, and one of the young adults asked me if I liked peppers, and so I said yes, thinking "oh yeah, I love spice! C'mon I'm 25% hispanic! It's just a little red pepper, it can't be that bad." So I popped the whole thing in my mouth. Oh how I could not have been more wrong. At first I was ok, then my eyes started to water, I started to cough, and every part of my mouth started to burn. Imagine someone pouring gasoline into your mouth, and then taking axe body spread and holding a lighter in front of it while spraying it into your mouth. It was like that but 5 times worth. My hearing even started to go in and out and I could barely talk. THEN he tells me that it was a Ghost pepper. So yeah I went inside and the member saw my face and just assumed that someone fed me one the peppers from her husband's casual ghost pepper and carolina reaper garden, so she just grabbed two liters of milk out of the fridge and I drank both of them. But Im alive! Missions are great!

Today we went to Frankenstein Castle (oooo spookyyyy). It was supposedly part of the inspiration for Frankenstein the book. It was a lot of fun, a pretty hike, and it was a total plus that it is starting to feel more like fall and the weather was beautiful. God's creations are incredible.

Anyways that's all for this week. Love yall, miss yall, and talk to you next week!

Tschüss!
