Spanish Sign Language, Watch Your Step, and Allan^2

Hallo meine liebe Leute!

How yall doing? This week was awesome! Besides the fact that I found out I was getting transferred! I had really grown to love Darmstadt and the ward, and it was hard to leave for sure.

Sunday and Monday was a lot of running around visiting friends and members to say goodbye. I am honestly so grateful for technology though and that I will be able to stay in contact with them. It was especially hard to say goodbye to Johny, the group leader of the Spanish group.I have never been more motivated to learn Spanish. Although I can't speak much Spanish, he is one of the smiley-est and most loving people I have ever met. We have sort of formed our own language with a mix of sounds, hand gestures, nods, and a couple Spanish and German words mixed in. Somehow, probably through the Spirit, we manage to understand each other. Just being around him I feel the love of Christ, it's crazy!

We also visited the Sauer family! They are so funny and sarcastic, but also some of the best examples of Christlikeness I have ever seen. Somehow they have figured out the balance between the two haha. Brother Sauer took us to our next appointment, and halfway there, he said "Hey do you guys want to go up to Frankenstein Castle" and me thinking it was a joke since it was a big hike said "yeah sure haha" and so he whipped the car around on the autobahn and we headed up some windy road up to the castle. So we took a picture up at the top as he explained the whole history and what needs to be redone on the castle. Afterwich, at some point I stepped in dog poop, and I didn't notice until I got in the member's car and it smelled. So after Beuder Sauer and Elder Urban laughing at me and making fun of me, I cleaned off the shoe on the side of the road and we headed to the other members house, with my stinky shoes and pants (the bottom of my suit pants were also victims). I had to leave my shoes outside and just crossed my fingers that the smell of tacos was stronger than my pants. Sorry for too much information I know. Missions are fun!

We also met with a couple other awesome members and friends, including one family who I hadn't talked much to before, but it was awesome! Their family is crazy, but a lot of fun! It felt like home :)

Anyways it was hard to leave, but now I'm in Dortmund! It is a much bigger city, and also home to the famous Borussia Dortmund soccer team. I'm not a big soccer fan, but maybe some of you would be interested in that.

Something I have learned on my mission is the importance of following the Spirit. The Spirit comforts, helps, gives rest to the mind and heart, gives peace, and much more, but it also impresses people to act in order to help themselves or other people. On my mission, I have noticed that as you seek to rely on the Spirit and include it in your life everyday, the Lord will trust you more with more and more guidance. It's hard, but possible!

Also, my new companion is Elder Allen. What an incredible name!

Anyways that's all for this week! I will talk to yall next time.

Tschüss!

Landon
