Die Taufe, Spooky Season, And Medieval Break Dancing
Guten tag y'all!
This week was awesome!
We met with our friend Jay again, and we invited him to be baptized and he said yes! He is so awesome and even said that he is so excited to tell his wife and son. They are still in Africa, but he said that he would love for us to put the missionaries in contact with them there so that they could also learn about it. Although it isn't often that we find Germans who are that interested in the Gospel, it has been really cool to see how the Lord has led people to Germany so that they could have the opportunity to accept the Gospel here.
There was also a young adult activity here in Dortmund for Halloween and so I got to see some people from Darmstadt and Duisburg which was really awesome! I have met so many cool people on my mission! Also let me just say, I have never been disappointed by Germany's party planning. They really know how to plan an activity. We could take some notes.
We also had a split with the Siegen elders, and I was with Elder Lehmann. We were not seeing much success, but towards the end of our split an older couple stopped us and talked to us about how they used to know a member but lost contact with her and wanted to learn more about the church. Then at a bus stop I talked with a lady and she said "oh actually I am going to your church building right now to do family history" and she had a bunch of questions and wanted a Book of Mormon so we gave her one, and she said she would want to come to church sometime! It was awesome!
Right now there is a craftsmanship/fall/medieval market here in Dortmund, and so we walked through the market and they had some acrobatic people and some awesome bagpipes/mandolin/drum music. There was also some random lady literally break dancing to the music, and I really felt like I was in 1350 Germany. Very authentic.
Anyways that's all for this week!
Love y'all, miss y'all, talk to y'all next week!
Tschüss!
Elder Allan (Lando)
