Dennis The Non-Menace, Bring Us Some Figgy Pudding, And LivePD
Hallo gang!
Another pretty crazy week.
We had an INCREDIBLE lesson with our friend Dennis. One of our members, Sören, was nice enough to invite us over and meet in his apartment. Sören is incredible, was able to share so many cool experiences and he and Dennis really connected with each other. The Spirit was really strong and you could tell how much Sören's testimony of Jesus Christ and his experiences with everything he has gone through in life really touched Dennis. It was a cool experience, especially since we barely had to say anything! Sören and Dennis just talked. That's how it should be!
We also had exchanges with the Dortmund elders. I was with Elder Stewart, and we got to finally finish our exchange that we had started last transfer but never finished that one time since we had to end it early for an emergency.
With the Hahns (the senior missionary couple) we went to the Christmas market as a district and sang Christmas songs with Elder Hahn playing accordion. It was a ton of fun. The old German ladies would always stop and watch and start singing along and get so excited. Spread that Christmas cheer!
As a Zone we have decided to focus on "Going about doing good" this transfer. We are trying to be better at looking for unplanned and spontaneous opportunities to help and serve others. So we have made a Bingo board with totally random service opportunities and each district is trying to get a Bingo! For example, Elder Stewart and I were just walking past a police station and we thought "why don't we buy some cookies and drop them off at the Police station?" (That is one of the Bingo squares) and so we tried but apparently they aren't allowed to accept it because of bribery or whatever. But they were still really grateful, and we even made them laugh! (That also happened to be one of the bingo challenges, making a Police officer laugh). Fun aside, I know how important it is to look for opportunities to serve at all times! Even if you aren't on a mission! I have come to realize how important charity is if you are trying to become like Jesus Christ. I hope that you all remember how important it is to serve and help others whenever you can. I have, and you will feel God's love for others, even if it is someone you thought you could never love!
We also had another awesome with Jay, this time about tithing, and it was awesome! He already has such a strong testimony of everything. Because he hasn't really been able to come to church much, we are waiting on his baptism for a bit, but it's alright, he still wants it!
Anyways I think that's all for this week. Love yall, miss yall, tschüss!
Elder Allan (Landon)
