The Spirit, Coincidence? I Think Not, And Biscuits
Hallo Liebe Leute!
I'm back!
Me and Elder Allen the other day were a bit tired of being inside so we decided to get out and go talk to people, so we prayed about where to go, and I felt like we should go to Gablonzstraße (right by our house) and he felt we should go to Kampstraße (in the city center). So I said what if we walk down to Gablonzstraße first, and then we will take a subway to Kampstraße. So we did that, and no one wanted to talk at Gablonzstraße. So we headed to Kampstraße and the moment we got out of the train, a guy stopped us and told us how he had met with the missionaries before but lost contact and wanted to visit church again. If we hadn't taken the time to go to Gablonzstraße and then also go to Kampstraße we wouldn't have run into him!
Oh yeah and transfers happened! I'm staying but Elder Allen got transferred. Don't worry, you can still look out for our law firm "Allan and Allen" in the future! Now I am with Elder Laurence, who I already knew a bit and we are going to have a great time.
The other day we were walking in the innenstadt (like the outdoor mall) and talking to people as we went, and out of the hundreds of people around me there was one I really felt like I should talk to. So I did, and I started talking to him and I thought "wow he looks familiar" so i asked him if we had met before and yes! It turns out he was someone we had met over 3 weeks ago and we were supposed to meet up to give him a book of mormon but he never showed up! Now we are back in contact with him and he is pretty interested! And I thought, out of the thousands of people that are walking through that place, why did I talk to him! It was the Holy Ghost, that was not a coincidence!
There was another guy we stopped on Tuesday named Peter. I usually don't talk to very many older Germans, because often they are a lot less willing to talk to us. But we stopped and talked to Peter, who was so excited to get a Book of Mormon and is looking forward to coming to church. He even said he wants to go to Salt Lake and see the Tabernacle Choir in performance!
We also did a lot of service this week! We helped the Adam's family move out of their apartment (thankfully it was on the first floor, I don't know how many more cabinets and unnecessarily large couches I can carry up four floors of skinny German apartment stairs). We also helped the lady who moved in across the street from us. Every time we thought we were done, more stuff just popped into existence out of nowhere. I'm not complaining though, I got a good leg workout.
Today we went over to Birgit's house (a member here) and made German Christmas cookies (our "biscuits" as our friends in the outback say) along with the other Elders. It was a ton of fun! I thought we would be there for 2 hours and it ended up being 6.5, but it was worth it. I also got to try playing a didgeridoo! Let's just say I will stick with the saxophone. I told her I liked wrapping presents and now I have been enlisted to wrap all of her Christmas presents for people. I mean, I would never say no to wrapping presents. When I grow up I want to be an elf.
Anyways I think that's all for this week! I love you all and miss you! Talk to you next week!
Elder Allan (Landon)
Also Aldi here has Trader Joe's stuff! That was a sight for sore eyes!
