I Stand All Amazed

Hallo Leute!


This week we got to meet for the first time with Zoe, who we had run into at a park. She is from China, so we invited one of our members, Bohan, to teach with us. She has read the bible 3 times, and the first time she read it in 1 month, so she said she could read the Book of Mormon in just a couple days! Whenever we would say something she didn't understand, Bohan would translate into Chinese. Towards the end of our lesson, she said something in Chinese to Bohan and Bohan looked at us and said "She wants to know about baptism". So we took her to the baptismal font and shared how it changes lives and helps people become happier. She said "I want to see that. I want to experience that". We are so excited for her!

We also had the chance to be at a couple Zone Conferences. I got to see my last companion Elder Christesen, it was awesome to see him again. The whole time, in all of the conferences, the Spirit was so strong. So many people shared their personal experiences of how they came to believe in Jesus Christ and that He truly did die for us. It strengthened my testimony so much.


Something I have been doing recently is studying hymns and their lyrics during personal study and listening to the song. It is so powerful. I highly recommend it.

Nothing describes the way I feel about Jesus Christ better than the lyrics of "I Stand All Amazed".


"I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,

Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.

I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,

That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.


I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine

To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,

That he should extend his great love unto such as I,

Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.


I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!

Sometimes I have difficulty expressing how I feel in prayer. I have difficulty pouring out my whole soul to God. But I can express myself through music. Like it says in D&C 25:12


"For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads".


I am so thankful for the blessing that music is in my life!

I love you all. So does God!

Hallo alle! A crazy week to say the least!    On Saturday we (the Essen and Dortmund District missionaries) hosted a stake youth activity in Dortmund. It was called "Great Gatsby Night: a Night in the 1920's" - who wouldn't want to go to that? It was a huge success and actually a good amount of youth showed up which was way cool. We played a bunch of card games, served drinks, and it was a ton of fun! Maybe I will be a waiter when I get home. I only managed to screw up a couple orders and forget 3 others, and only one person told me they would leave me a 2 star Yelp review. It was such a great opportunity to create better relationships with the youth and show them that missionaries are just normal people too!   We met this week with Dennis again, along with two other missionaries that we were on a split with, and Marco (the GOAT, he is got to be one of my best friends here in Germany now, plus he is like 6'11", so to have a connection like him has its perks! ...

Prayer, Brezel, And Escalator To Heaven

Hallo Leute! It's been a good week! Last Thursday we had a lesson with Alex and Galina. They are dating, but Alex is a member and Galina is not. We talked about the steps before baptism, and we even asked them if they want to get sealed sometime in the temple, and they enthusiastically said yes! The Spirit was so strong and you could see how much they cared for each other and how much they looked forward to being able to be together for eternity. Galina is really excited to get baptized, and today we are going to be talking more about what it takes to get there. On Friday we had three lessons in a row, all of which were really powerful. The first one with Dominik who was recently baptized. He is such a great guy and he is trying so hard to live the Gospel! The Gospel has really changed his life and he talked to us about how grateful he is for it and for the blessings he has seen.
