The Atonement

Hallo Leute!

Another great week.

This week we had an exchange with the Langen Elders, and we had an incredible lesson with Markus, his daughter Lily, and his son Niko. Originally it was all over the place because both Lily and Niko have a lot of energy, but eventually we brought the focus back to the Plan of Salvation and how important Jesus Christ is. The little girl Lily got really excited and showed me all the songs about God and Jesus she had learned in school, and FROM memory she recited Psalm 23, the Lord is My Shepherd chapter. The Spirit was so strong when she was saying it. What Jesus says in Matthew 18:3 is so true! "Except ye...become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." We should all try more to be like a child (trust me, that's not hard for me sometimes haha)

There was also a girl in our ward getting baptized on Saturday so we invited Markus, and his little girl Lily also wanted to come along. It was a really awesome experience, and after the baptism, Lily leaned over to her dad and said (in German) "Dad, I want to get baptized just like that girl did!". It was the sweetest thing ever, and I asked Markus if that was something he wanted as well, and he said yes! We are so excited for them and to help them come even closer to Jesus Christ.

This week I had the opportunity to study and talk a lot about the Atonement of Jesus Christ a lot with other missionaries. Something I have learned is how important it is to use the Atonement EVERY single day of your life. It doesn't just cover the sins in your life, but also the pain, confusion, and difficulties that you deal with every single day. Today we got the opportunity to go to the temple, and I had the most spiritual confirmation that Jesus really does live. That His Atonement works for me and for every one of you. Don't keep carrying burdens that He is willing to carry. The scripture I read that really hit me so hard in the temple was this in Moroni 10.

32 Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.

33 And again, if ye by the grace of God are perfect in Christ, and deny not his power, then are ye sanctified in Christ by the grace of God, through the shedding of the blood of Christ, which is in the covenant of the Father unto the remission of your sins, that ye become holy, without spot.

I love you all so much. God and Jesus Christ love you.

See ya next week!
